Well, I have took the plunge and decided to be a SAHM Despite the "state" of the economy, I have given up my 22hr job to be a better wife and mammy there are many fantastic mammies out there who have a career and are a wonderful family woman too, but right now I just cant manage it. The household income will be cut, so nappy buying will be a luxury but hopefully i will find a way around that!

I'm looking forward to it, and plan to also spend more time with my knitting and dyeing. I hope one day to be good enough to sell some items, just to have a little pocket money for myself...and to buy new nappies, as always

I took the plunge a few years ago too Gayle, and Im happier than ever being a SAHM - its not for everyone but it really was the best for us and despite losing my wage we manage!

ditto what sadie, it sounds like its whats best for you. Im thinking of being a sahm. I dont know how i will feel yet until she is born but i feel so protective allready i kinda know im not going to want to leave her. My hubby says he will support me whatever i decide but he says its only money. I think i would be happier at home with babs even if were skint! Also bet there are lots of jobs you could do at home too, i might look into that option after a few months. Take it easy
