A night off?

Pah, I wish, I haven't even had time to get on here the last few nights, all because of the weather, it's too damn hot! Austin can't sleep so I have been stuck trying to get him to sleep until almost 10 for the last few nights and I'm exhausted. I'm behind with house work because when he finally sleeps I need to do the same and when he's not asleep I'm either looking after him or up at the hospital. It's all such a chore atm. I never thought I would be that parent. You know, the one that thinks their kid is super-smart, developmentally advanced and generally better than most other people’s kids.

I feel a need to get ready for baby. I don't know why. I have bought my hospital things, I *think* I have got everything for my hospital bag. I think I need to start packing, I feel a *need* to get on and do things but I really want to slow down and enjoy this Christmas with Austin. I have decided that I enjoy my "me" time but recently I have come to appreciate true family time much more. I love the fact that Austin and this new baby will both enjoy a large extended family (from OH's side anyway). Well, after having a good rest last night, I feel better about the whole birth thing. As my dh keeps reminding me, in many ways there is no "battle", because we won't be having a hospital birth (unless need to transfer urgently). I am beginning to understand the comments on the AIMS website about women becoming so fed up with it that they even consider having no mw. While I wouldn't have an unassisted birth, I do feel more anxious about who will be attending, and whether I get a nice mw....
