I didn't realise how MUCH mama cloth contains! Thanks to a post I read here I decided to rinse out my pads today. (normally I throw them in with the nappies for a rinse before the wash) And it takes a LONG time for the water to run clean!

And that makes the despicable mama pads even worse IMO than I thought before. Ugh.

I don't confess it to most people, although I think they suspect, but at times I am ever so slightly obsessed with my ds's nappies.

As I consider them to be part of his clothes it's totally justifiable to me, but most other people just see them as ... well I don't know, maybe as something dirty? Whatever they think, I love the fact that we use as few disposables as we can (we don't use night nappies...

I've never done this before but thought I would give it a go. Mine will be an as and when kind of blog, recording some feelings/events ect and stuff I need to focus on or sort out whilst things are so hectic in my life. Can't promise I will write anything interesting but every now and again I will try! :-)

I know that many of you will read this and judge me to be a horrible person because of it and to be honest I don't think that you have any real right to judge me until you can say you have spend time in my shoes and been through what I have these last 6 months. Much of this is self pity so if you don't care I suggest you stop reading now.
I would like to think that in the last 6 months I have been amazingly strong in the face of what I have had to deal with. This has forced me to change just about...

Yesterday I pre-washed my first 6 cloth nappies, they are on the airer right now (it is really cold here these days so they did not get dry overnight), and tomorrow our cloth nappy adventure begins :yahoo:

But our story started more than 10 years ago when I heard a program on the radio about disposable nappies. I don't remember what they said in that program but I remember very well that I was shocked....
