At the risk of sounding really silly, I am confused by the Thirstie. Some sites describe a duo, some a duo wrap, some a duo diaper. Some say it is a pocket nappy.... I don't want to get the wrong one!
Can someone direct me, please!
Thanks x

I think these guys are talking about the duo wrap. The duo diaper/pocket is the same company but it's a pocket nappy. I've been looking to buy them too, so had the same issue.

Ah! I thought so, but some online shops seem to talk about these fitting over lots of different nappies, so I thought they may be a standard wrap!
Thanks.

Thirsties have a Duo Diaper, which is a pocket nappy, and a Duo Wrap, which is what is being discussed here. You'll soon spot the price difference as the Duo Diaper is around £13.50 while the Duo Wrap is around £8.95. Make sure you're in the wraps page of the website you're looking at and you won't go far wrong.

HTH.

Hi there, I know this is an older thread, but I was just about to post a newbie question about how these three compare so it saved me the bother... Also not sure if this is the right sub-forum to post my questions (sorry I am still soooo confused about terminology and choice etc. ...), but I am thinking of getting either Thirsties Duos or Flips and reading some reviews about the former there seem to be some quality issues that people have noted (like poppers not working properly for example). There are some trial packs for Flips which makes that an attractive option ... I have not found anything like that for Weehuggers yet so that made them seem less attractive...
Also, perhaps a silly question (I really have only just started out so apologies if it seems dumb), but can you use the inserts interchangeably? My little boy is quite heavy weighing 11kg (around 24lb) at only 8 months (and on any one size nappies I have is already in the largest setting). Any recommendations? (sorry for a rather rambling post)

Wrap wise i much prefer the flips. Weehuggers are prettier but the bamboo flap inside gets dirty and cant be wiped like the flips, also the cotton outers do have a tendency to wick causing leaks. A lot of people like their thirsties but i could never get a good fit with DD and they either left marks or fell down.

Insert wise, the weehuggers are trim but not v absorbant, If you have a heavy wetter i would go for the flip organic inserts over the staydrys as they are much more absorbant and will last well up to potty training.

U can use most inserts/prefolds (except Microfibre if no staydry layer) inside these wraps. My fave combo was actually an issy bear night insert inside a flip wrap. v trim and lasted 3hrs easy. I've never tried thirsties inserts so can't comment sorry.

My lo is a similar size to your little boy, she is on the largest setting for all her btp nappies except flips - they fit perfectly and still have another rise setting to 'unpop', so I think they will fit her for quite a while longer. They are very reliable, we never have any leaks. I use flip stay dry, flip organic and prefolds in our flip covers. I'd say that they are pretty versatile, you could prob use any insert.
