Obsessed13 has a baby to practice on!

Well Hello! Don't know if anyone will remember that I posted on here way back when I was pregnant bout terries? Anyway, baby finally arrived on sept 20th, weighing 8lb 5 and is absolutely adorable!

So far I am very proud of myself and have used terries mostly the bamboo ones with the occasional normal one and bummis prefolds nippa'd, that I did not expect but actually I really like them. I was given a few preloved fitteds from a friend but have not used them really, love doing the folds and nippaing, how sad!
And..........I have used wool and love it!!! Last night I braved a night in it and it was absolutely fine, no leaks. HAven't been brave enough to use it out of the house yet but have used my pumpkin pants fleece soaker out.

I have only one problem....he does seem to get a sore patch, I've been using liners so I can put sudicreme on to clear it but then it seems to come back. Have just ordered some silk liners today, any other suggestions? Should I always use a liner or perhaps just at night when he's got the nappy on for so long? In the day I change him two hourly, not because he needs it in terms of leaks but because I'm paranoid about nappy rash!!!! Any suggestions?

Sorry this is turning into such a long post, one last thing, I need a plan for the next stage, wish I didn't need to have a plan but I do!...So I think my junior joy terries should last as they are a bit big, I have ordered some bright bots too just for the fun of it but mostly I use the bamboo terries but cannot see these lasting very long at all, have just started using a different fold which seems to give me a bit more room. What size should I get if I buy more, have seen 60cm and 75cm. Plan also t get some more bummis prefolds in the next size but continue to nippa, does anybody else nippa a prefold for an older baby?

Right think that will do for now, if anyone is still with me thanks for listening! :yahoo:

Joe does have one sore patch that never seems to go away but as long as i cream it every so often it doesn't seem to bother him. + i had Lillie (2.5 now) in disposables the whole time + she got much worse nappy rash - Joe doesn't really seem to get nappy rash other than this one sore spot. i would say that fleece liners help though. i just dont worry about it cos joe doesnt really care. when Lillie used to be in disposables i will never forget this one time she had such bad nappy rash + screamed + screamd for hours - it was the msot horrendous thing ever. still remeber how much it hurt me. but i guess Joe is only 8 months. (but saying that have got him to 8 months with no nappy rash so... :wine: )
