Summer craft challenge!

Sorry for the bad lighting not sure what happened there but this is the main cushion panel, I've cut out the hands (I used a very thin fusible wadding as I didnt' have any plain interfacing - I think it will work out quite well. I haven't glued them down or sewn them yet. Hope to find a minute to do that at some point today! I'll also need to learn how to handsew writing onto it with thier names underneath and I thought of putting in the centre Loving Hands and the year but we'll see how my handsewing writing goes

I've been wanting to appliqué a few of Iris' tshirts for ages. She got two of the same sets from two lots of rellies for her birthday, so I've been wanting to get around to livening one of the sets up. I just need to find our nearest Spotlight now - sounds like a good excuse to look for it!

I love that cushion cover, too, Tory. Might have to steal that idea.

We're hoping to move later this year and I'm hoping we will have somewhere to set-up a sewing machine. Then I can have a go at appliqueing etc (and maybe get Bella involved )

It is. And I've just got back from there. Not quite as big as my old local one was (that was in Lidcome and a superstore, it was absolutely huge and I love it so), but I got what I need. I think I'm bringing Iris around to the dark side of fabric addiction. She shouted, "Ooohhh!" when we got to that section and ran off to the pink rolls. So we have a few FQ of pretty things to make a start on the tshirts and cushion.

osc has some new jeans already with a hole in the knee so i want to applique somehow over it, but have no idea how. taking part in this might actually spur me into action with them.

That is fab though - exactly what they are here for! I would never have considered making a sock monkey before and I'm now nearly done (just the boring hand sewing to go ).

I'm really starting to come up with some ideas for my plain baby vests!
(painting/ embroidery/ adding trim)

Once I've tackled DD's vests - I've got a fab idea for my Dad & DS...

My Dad loves traction engines (even has his own minature full working engine!!) & has got DS well and truely hooked too - gonna embelish some of their tshirts - so they have matching ones to wear together on the engine.

We're also in the progress of buying our 1st house - so thinking of what stuff I can embelish easily enough around the house - so we've got something special to move in with that "I've made"

Any ideas? (for a very basic crafty person!)
