That's a really good point, non-bio just isn't as good at getting nappies clean!

TBH any child in cloth nappies that is only being changed 3 times a day is likey to get sore!

Yep, Katie is one of them. And I agree with Hanna non bio just doesn't clean the nappies well enough.

If Isabelle had been in disps and only changed 3 times a day she'd have been mega sore... :?
She does have very sensitive skin though!

Grace hasn't had any disps on yet (none in the house!) - her skin is fine though we're using a variety of nappy types and change when needed...

Yes, sorry  children are also likely to get sore in disposables if not changed often enough!

My DD is sensitive to Sainsbury's non-bio, Fairy non-bio and Bold 2-in-1 so far, I didn't think to try the biological versions of them though, think I might do now that it's been pointed out! I've just done my first nappy wash in Surcare, I've heard that it's good for sensitive skin and also doesn't seem to cause build-up smells so I hope that this works.

Hope the Surcare doesn't irritate your DD's skin

We used surcare for ages and didn't have any problems with build-up or rash issues at all... BUT it's not as good at washing clothes as Ariel and I found we got less smelly clothes (e.g. DH's shirts still smelling sweaty after a wash) using Ariel than using Surcare because the clothes were cleaner... :?

Oh God that's gross Steph! I have to admit that the nappies smelt a bit wet-dog like but then Surcare has no scent so maybe I'll stick some lavender in it or something. I was happily surprised that it got all the nappies clean looking though, but I did wash at 60, normally I'd do it at 40.

I personally like my detergent to be perfumed although I know some that don't, so I'll always use Ariel/Sainsbury's on clothes and whatever I find that doesn't cause DDs bum to go red on the nappies.
