Is there much diff between small/med SIO itti?

I'm debating on getting small or mediums for my DS#2 when he arrives.
My first son is in large ittis as he's 18 months and they fit fine. I'm just wondering if it's worth getting small SIOs when the new baby arrives or if I should just head straight for mediums?
Would a medium fit a 8lb/9lb baby? (I'm planning on putting him in cloth at 2-3 wks old). Or should I get some smalls? My first son was 6lb 15oz at birth x

I found it's more different in the rise rather than the waist fitting.

Itti recommend starting with mediums fir a 8lb baby at birth, just maybe excepting that they nay not fit brilliantly for 2-3 weeks, but better that than wasting money on smalls that you'll barely use.

Other option is go get 1-2 of each size preloved. And waiting till baby cones and you are ready to use cloth before forking out for more.

I would go for a few smalls but mostly med.

My son is just under 10lb and on the last snaps on his smalls. I think we will get a few more weeks from them but its not long really. The ittis are a good price at the mo on the itti website.
