Longies/shorties etc

Postby Cj2011 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 3:20 pm

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question - I'm very new to cloth

What exactly are they? Are they the same as wraps? And if they are do they not get wet?

From what I can figure they are essentially a wrap and pants combined?? But if you dont have a waterproof layer how do they stay dry? :-? :-?

The wool is lanolised to make it waterproof and some moisture evaporates too. I lanolise my night wool soakers about once a month which is usually enough. We seldon get leaks with wool. Longies are also lanolised and can be worn as trousers or as pj bottoms, same for shorties really. HTH :D

Ah ok, that makes more sense now, thanks.

How do you lanolise? Sorry for all the questions.

I use solid lanolin and put a pea sized amount in a tub, add hot water to dissolve it, let it cool then stick my woolies in and leave overnight. Dry as usual and hey presto!
