Wraps for newborns?

Postby Dandelion » Tue May 10, 2011 6:41 am

Hello,
I have some one life wraps but they are a little too stiff for I newborn I feel. What I'm after is a nice soft wrap good for a newborn to go over mother-ease cotton one size. Thanks :-)

Have you thought of trying wool or fleece? Wool is the more reliable under clothing and if baby is in one position a lot (which newborns are!) and of course they are super soft and super stretchy so much more flexible than any PUL wrap available.

We've been using motherease rikki wraps xs, tots bots size 0 & cotton bottoms newborn size.
Ive just got into using wool - definitely worth a look!

great thanks :-) I did wonder about wool but a friend told me it's best for night use? I like the idea as wool is softer!

You can use wool at any time. Just make sure you dont put cloithes that are snug arround the bum otherwise you can get compression wicking. We use wool soakers under poppered vests and sleepsuits, and we also use longies instead of trousers.

Wool is fab! I also love Tots Bots size 0 flexiwraps, the prints are a lot thinner than the plain white wraps for some reason so I prefer those.

great thank you :D if they are sat or laid on the nappy will that cause compression wicking? I'm guessing not if they are laid down otherwise they wouldn't be recommended for night use..
