Did you water them a lot? What I found out about the reasons for our diddy crop last year was that we needed to regularly use enough water to soak down at least 30cm and up to 1m underground for best results. Hilling (which we did) helps as it raises the root level and makes it easier for the water to reach a deeper level but I think we needed way more water. I'm also going to try lots of manure next time to try to create the uber tuber.

I think we needed more hills - they are meant to be added to for ages and I dont' think we did it enough, or water. Poor things

I did the tyre thing and they were doing fab then for dome reason the didn't come through on the last tyre. I should gave just dug them out Then! I think there were a good amount bug then they just gave up because j found tons of skins just all mixed in ; ( wahhhh
