Autumn Clean up Challenge!

I don't know about you but I spend so much time over the summer outside and with the garden, visitors etc the house seems to get in a state by the end of summer and I'd really like to get some sorting done pre me going away and in the lead up to being somewhat housebound in the winter and Christmas decorating (I go away a month today then get back a month before Christmas so I need to have everything ready before I go as much as possible)! I have started but I thought it would be fun if a few of us wanted to do a challenge to get on top of some of those jobs. We could start with a list (ideas welcome even if you don't want to play!) that will become the master list and you just copy it onto your reply then edit with DONE :yahoo: next to each task as you complete it. :widesmile:

@Louise I know you are always really organised with your house before you put your Christmas decorations up - would love some ideas!
I'm going to try to do some or all of one thing each day :D

  • Clean oven
  • Clean microwave (fill a bowl 1/2 with water, add juice of lemon and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes - then just wipe it out - you'll be amazed how easy it is if you have never done it this way before - the steam just lifts everything off)
  • Make a meal plan
  • Deep clean floors
  • Declutter living areas
  • Autumn garden clean up (pull up summer plants / prune / sort paths /terraces and weeds)
  • Clean the windows
  • Any DIY / decorating that needs doing
  • Sweep chimney (well remind DH to do it!)
  • Run a cleaning cycle in the washing machine :washing:
  • Run a clean cycle on the dishwasher / clean filter / clean out gunk in the spinny things holes

Who's in ???????

OK here is my list with notes to self!)
  • Clean oven (have bicarb, vinegar and washing up liquid mix soaking in mine as I type!) DONE :yahoo:
  • Clean microwave - as above as my microwave is an oven too. DONE :yahoo:
  • Make a meal plan - DONE :yahoo:
  • Deep clean floors (I'm going to use my new steam cleaner) - Downstairs done - upstairs needed
  • Declutter living areas
  • Autumn garden clean up (pull up summer plants / prune / sort paths /terraces and weeds)
  • Clean the windows (going to try the steam cleaner for this as well although I have lots of little square windows which won't work!)
  • Any DIY / decorating that needs doing (I want to finish painting my living room)
  • Sweep chimney (well remind DH to do it!)
  • Run a cleaning cycle in the washing machine :washing:
  • Run a clean cycle on the dishwasher / clean filter / clean out gunk in the spinny things holes

My house is so full of dust/building debris/decorating stuff there's no way I can start yet, but the second the loft is finished I'm having a major clean

My house is pretty perfect
:hohoho: when I bought it everything was new and only thing I had to do was put curtains up. There are a few things to sort but can't do most of them without money :cry:

* buy izzy a bed from ikea and build it
* put shelves and coat hooks up in izzys room
* buy a bedside table for Leon
* put all fabric and stuff in loft
* get sewing machines serviced and repaired
* get washing machine fixed
* fit the door back on at space for a dishwasher
* sort through the pantry (shoved a load of stuff in there when I moved in)
* put any boxes in the loft
* get plastic units built in the pantry to store work stock
* get blinds ordered and fitted in the lounge
* switch bedding in my room
* organise my clothes
* organise leons clothes
* sort all the bins out

My garden is the project its like a jungle and I really don't know what I want to do with it but will make a list anyway

FRONT
* get rid of Privets and replace with fencing
* weed
* dig? Add soil ?
* scrub/clean all the paving

SIDE
* clean up all rubbish
* scrub the paving
* weed

BACK
* weedkiller on all the paved areas
* clear rubbish
* scrub paving
* weed main area
* buy rabbit house and build
* dig out beds

Then I'll make a new post for what on earth to do with the garden once it's clear :)
