Cotton as liner/ wipes?

Postby VicA » Wed Mar 20, 2013 2:47 pm

Hey guys, I'm a newbie to cloth bums, was given a trial pack of one life's and thought they're fab so have brought some more preowned from eBay. Anyways so my mum has given me some old 100% cotton towels and a flannelette sheet in the thought of making some wipes/ liners. Any ideas with what they would be best for? Is cotton ok as a liner? Or should I just use as wipes? Thanks in advance x

I would use cotton as a wipe but not as a liner.
I used (and will be using again) fleece as a liner as it keeps baby's bottom dry which cotton won't do.

Wss
The cotton towelling material could also be made into boosters too :)

Thanks for that :)
I've got loads ( one for each nappy) of the cotton ( I think they're cotton!!?) boosters that came with the nappies. But exploring other option that may be abit more absorbent for night time, from looking at other posts the general consensus us that hemp is good?
As I said I'm still a newbie and abit overwhelmed by all the different materials!
Also is it ok to use sudocrem with fleece liners? As I have been!! :lookround:

Hemp is good, but you don't want it next to the baby as it absorbs liquid relatively slowly. I alway had a bamboo booster on top (others use microfibre or cotton to absorb quickly).
I did use sudocrem with fleece liners but not everyone would. I did find I had to strip wash the liners from time to time though

Cool thanks for that :)
Love the fleece liners, so soft and keeps him nice and dry!
Just ordered some hemp boosters and LL bamboo ones to try.
Think I'm getting there with all the nappy jargon! :yahoo:
