well Austin is only 12 wk so as far as my thinking goes it's just recycled milk atm so I just throw it all straight in the bucket and we haven't had any problems with it coming out in the wash, he is my first as well though so I couldn't really comment on anything further down the line but I think if it stays like this I'll just wash it as is then when it gets a bit more solid I might flush the toilet over them to get the worst of it off first.

With the solidish ones it's easy to just flush them and then wash them but the sloppy ones which aren't just BF either are not nice so think I'll just keep throwing them as I most times he manages to poo when we are out and about and there is no way I'm sticking my hand near a public toilet!

Have you tried the disposable paper ones you can get when out and about? I have some but I haven't got around to using them yet.

The ones I have used were awful - I'm sure there are some decent ones out there but I imagine it would probably work out about the same cost as I only throw a fleece liner about every 2 days.

Boots paper liners are the best. I use them over the fleece or minkee ones when I'm expecting a poo. If they're just wet you can chuck them in the bucket and wash them with the nappies several times before they start to fall apart.

I just hold my fleece liners in the toilet flush and "wiggle" them in the bowl if needed. If ds does a poo whilst we are out I just roll it up inside the dirty nappy and deal with it when I get home.
