Cheap alternative to Cheeky Wipes?

Postby weebee » Tue Feb 22, 2011 3:19 pm

I was thinking of getting the Cheeky Monkey wipes mini-kit which comes with the following:

25 x Soft Terry Washable Wipe Cloths 15cm x 15cm

1 x Fresh Wipes Container

1 x Small Monkey Foot Wetbag (Red Peony or Aquabud)

1 x 10ml Bottle of Lavender & Chamomile Fresh Baby Wipes Essential Oil

I'm guessing I could buy a cheaper essential oil from ebay and use a new sandwich box for storage. Can anyone suggest a good place to get wipes and a small wet bag?

Thanks!

What about cheap face flannels instead, you can ge them for about 25p each at Tescos i think.

ETA and I use the free pampers wipe box that I got in a Bounty pack to keep my wipes in at home!

keep in mind that some essential oils are not recommended for use under 6 months (not sure which ones though)... and plain water does the job equally well.... you don't really need to buy the oil. cheap face flannels are a good idea.

Yep I just use plain water, normally just run a wipe under the tap even now.

I bought weenotions wipes. They are about £5 for 10 but I have some that have been in constant use for 3 years and are still going strong. Mine are bamboo terry and cotton velour. They are lovely and soft too. I put them in a tuperware box.

I used to use face cloths too but now I make my own bamboo terry & minkee one's. I also just keep in a tupperwear tub :D

Wehad cheeky wipes and found them pretty useless tbh. far too small for more than the first few weeks and now we manage much better with the cheap face flannels from tesco/asda/ikea. Whereas we were needing to use 3 or 4 cheeky wipes at a change we use one wet and one to dry at each change now. we just use water and never bothered with any essential oils as our son reacts to a lot of products.

I have some |Junior Joy wipes that are basic terry squares and they are great,

I always put yucky ones in my nappy wetbag.

I just use water on mine so no oils get in with the nappies.

I'd also recommend Weenotions wipes, a cheap plastic tub and plain water. We use about 8 wipes a day
