Anyone got a condenser dryer?

We're looking at washer dryers, which seem to tend to have condenser, rather then vented, dryers. I'm very wary as our last condenser dryer used to discharge a load of steam directly into the kitchen, and we eventually found that it had removed a huge amount of plaster from the wall behind it...I don't know if we had a rogue one or if condensers are notorious for discharging steam into the room?

I'd be very grateful to hear others' experiences

we have a condenser and never had a problem with steam, i though they work so you didnt get steam, we just have to empty the water drawer regulary as if you forget the clothes dont dry

Ours lives in a cupboard and has never been any problem either.

Mine has been fine too. Was it too close to the wall perhaps? X

Thanks all Not sure about the distance, maybe that or it may have been a dodgy one, it died about 18 months after I bought it...

never had a problem with ours, it is in the garage. All you have to do is empty the water drawer and keep the filters clean of fluff or it doesn't dry properly xx

Hmm. Anyone got any brand recommendations then as ours is pants (it is a cheap and nasty hotpoint through so I'm not surprised....)

I have a condenser dryer, it's grand, but tbh I'd much prefer a vented, they're just so much more efficient.
I did have a washer dryer in a house I lived in before and I'd never have another, I was terrible. In my experience they just never actually dry properly, or even close.

I have a hoover condenser dryer and its great. We've had it 4 years now and its still as good as it was when we got it. Our last hotpoint the ball bearings went on the drum and it was soooo noisy. No problems with steam or damage here either.
