Help with nappies rubing - with pic - advice needed

Postby clairelana » Thu May 28, 2009 9:02 am

I need some help,
All Kaydis nappies are rubbing on her chunky legs, I'm currently using Northern essence diaper rash salve on it, it seems to help at times but it looks really sore again today. When it goes she still has really dry flaky sin in this area.
I find using well lanolised wool can help too. The problem I have is i need to use my pockets when my mum has them or when dh looks after them.
WHat do you think -

What can I do?

ouch, it looks like that skin needs a rest from rubbing, can you use as many fitteds with wool as possible to try and help. Maybe not doing the pockets up as tight might help.

In cases when Ben has had skin like that I have also found normal Aveeno cream works to take down the redness and gets the skin to flake away quickly to show lovely skin underneath

my dd3 gets soreness when the nappies are fastened low on her legs too, i find that i need to reposition the fabric after fastening to nearer her crotch - that way they dont rub when she moves

How frequently is she changed and does she get much nappy off time?

I tend to change her evry 2-3 hours depending, on the very odd occasion she can go 4 but thats rare.
She doesn't get much nappy off time at all, she screams if she does a wee with out a nappy on.
I have taken it off now and will let her roam around without one for a bit.

She is walking now I think that might have something to do with it.
Maybe I need to loosen her nappies abit, as you all said.

I will stick to fitteds and nappy free time, I'm off this week.

Ooo Claire, poor little Kaydi :(

I found Wondabalm to be the best thing on my LO's nappy rash as well as nappy off time. I hope she gets better soon.
