washed in bio now ds inflamed, red swollen willy

Postby banana » Fri Nov 20, 2009 9:17 pm

Hi all

Can anyone advise if Judes sudden inflammed swollen red willy could be due to having washed in bio to get rid of awful smelling nappies. I gave them a rinse wash after. Should i have rinsed them more.

Has anyone else had this with there DS? Maybe completely unrelated so wanted to check.

Thank you

Hannah

We get it occasionally, it usually happens when my ds is cutting a tooth. I often find his wee is very acidic and strong smelling too. It may be the washing powder but we don't often have a problem with bio. How often do you change his nappy?

Great name btw  :D

Cool!! Another Jude!! Not many around are there? :giggle:

I change nappy every 3-4 hours which today i think was too long as he kept being wet through. Usually this amount of time is fine for wetness.

He's cut all teeth so not that.

Never used bio before and he gets dry itchy back if i use it on his clothes. Thats why i thought it could be bio washing powder.

I cant use bio in DD as she looks like i've burnt her bits if i do. when her nappies are whiffy I strip them in bio and then a tablespoon of non bio and rinse in a wash after to remove the bio. faff i know but keep my los skin happy.

We only use non-bio on Bella's nappies too. Bio gave her really sore bits. Her other clothes seem fine if washed in bio.

Try using soda crystals instead to strip them in, infact I some times just wash nappies in soda crystals. And after every wash i always do at least 2 extra rinses xx

could well be the prob. defo do a stripwash tho, considering his reaction. keep an eye on it though, coz it could mean he has an infection (my ds suffers from them a lot) x
