not sure what to use??

Postby mineemo » Sat Apr 10, 2010 7:00 am

ty has been gettin really red dry ezcma like skin round his dinkle for a while and it got quite bad. well i was usin bepantham and its done nowt really, so i accidently put sudocreme on him one day as wasnt watchin what i was doin and then realised so had to hunt for sposi and found an odd few in a suitcase from our holiday last yr, luckily they still fitted. Anyway it actually did him good so i used the sposis and sudocreme for a few days and his rash peeled and totally cleared up. Now iv gone bk to usin cloth and obviously cant use sudocreme with them so iv been told and his started rashin up again. I tried sudocreme with a paper liner in his night nappy and it kept it at bay a little bit but not as much as before.
I dont wanna not use cloth so need a new cream to use if not sudocreme, as dont have that many paper liners and dont wanna go buyin massis in as said it didnt work as well really so not bothering.
ps i do change him regularly at least every 2.3 - 3 hrs in the day.

We've always used a natural cream. It's not cheap, but works wonders and we had no problem with our cloth when using it and it's brilliant for dry skin and eczema - http://www.earthbound.co.uk/acatalog/Eczema.html - scroll down, it's the chickweed and calendula, 3rd down.

i do use fleece liners in all my nappies, but still didnt think you could use sudocreme with them as it hindered the absorbancy?

The ingredients in sudocrem are nasty though, Your fleece and nappies might be ok, but what about the skin you are putting them on, which then absorbs into the body?
Zinc oxide:

Lanolin (hypoallergenic):
Think we all know what this is.

We used Metanium on the rare occasion Evie got a rash - it worked brilliant for her, but it does stain so I would recommend using fleece liners that you dont mind getting stained. I bought it over the counter from the Chemists.

Another vote her for mentanium!

no idea whats in it but it fab, When Alesha sore(normally due to teething) she blisters and the skin breaks, she will wear this overnight for a couple nights DEF WITH FLEECE LINER OR WILL STAIN YA NAPPIES and she is perfectly clear! xx
