Hi Hannah and nic... too many longies??? is there such a thing?! Mine are very different to anything else out there I think...
ec-ing... I wouldn't say it requires any more dedication than any other facet of being a mum, once you're aware that babies can signal, and what the signals might be, I can't imagine purposefully ignoring them, or ignoring the possibility. And in many ways it makes life easier because you have an extra 'tool' in your parenting 'toolkit' (and overall there's far less poo in nappies!) A friend of mine who is a qualified breastfeeding counsellor, had her second baby and realised that a lot of the fussing that she'd written off with her first child as 'colic' was actually signalling for wee or poo.
Anyway that's probably a subject for another part of the board
