I've just found these slings and am seriously considering one. They are available for rental from Rumplebums too Suzanne....thinking of doing that first.

I love the idea and look of the MeiTai but just think I would get on better with the buckles.

Hello there. I'm Rae, and have Kayleigh (15 months) in cloth nappies and carry her around in the ergo. This makes me quite strange in this small part of the world, but suits us fine. Quite strangely, people from round these parts put it all down to me being Australian rather than part of my personality. Welcome to the forum, and look forward to chatting.

I'm also not a slings expert but I still carry my 21month old Isabelle in my Mei Tai and I LOVE it!!

Suzanne - what do you hate about your pouch? I was thinking they look simpler than a ring-sling for bf the baby in for "next time"...

That is what I thought too, but I couldn't use it when she was a newborn becasue she hated lying down in it :( So I saved it for when she could sit up in it, but I don't know if I got the wrong size becasue however many times I read the instructions and try to put it on, it just feels all wrong. She doesn't feel very secure, I feel like if I bend over she will fall out. She sort of leans to far away from me for my liking. Anyhoo like I said it may just be as simple as I got the wrong size.

I personally wont get anything with buckles, because the first carrier I had for William had buckles and I accidentally shut it in the car door, broke the buckle, and that was it I couldn't use it again. Plus I didn't really ever trust the buckle not to come undone. The mei tai's look complicated but it is like anything with a bit of practise they are easy as pie :D Plus they fit anyone, my fella and I can both use the same one and no need to adjust it first

That's exactly the reason we like our Mei Tai - we got an ergo before we got the babyhawk and which it was a HUGE improvement on the tomy freestyle, and the babasling I really wish I'd discovered mei tais earlier!!

The ergo was great but it was a PITA having to adjust it if the other one had worn it first, or if having put it on I'd tightened it (which I often did) to make it feel more secure...
The babyhawk has always felt more secure to the point that I've jogged for the train in it but wouldn't have dreampt of doing so with the ergo...

Must get around to listing that on ebay!!

Was about to post my own introduction, but thought I'd jump in and say hi Katherin :) .

I was desperately tying to remember who had recommended the bargain Fluff and Stuff a few weeks back & now I know! It's fab so thank you :) . I've just been in touch with Debbie about getting a few more as they're without a doubt our best fitting and most reliable night nappy. Which two are you waiting on?

Re slings, I can also recommend a Mei Tai. I've also got an Ergo, but I find the Mei Tai far more comfortable and easy to use. Mine's a Cwtshi **www.cwtshi.com Sadly our slinging days are all but over now. Éile only weighs 24lbs, but I'm only little and anyway she's not particularly happy being carried for any length of time :( . Hope Murray's more co-operative :) .

It was you who bought it!!!! Yay! I'm so glad someone did! It was the floral one wasn't it if I remember rightly? I'm waiting on a stargazer one and a batik one. They are both beautiful and I can't wait to get them! She did me some extra boosters too for a great price. Debbie is lovely!!! I can't recommend her and her nappies enough...by far the nicest person on hyena i've dealt with. :D
