How remiss, I haven't said hello yet.

Postby snorkmaiden » Sat Aug 06, 2011 10:50 pm

And I've been a member for, like, a whole month and bought loads of magnificent nappies and received some great advice. I LOVE this site- it rocks!

My name's Steph, and I live in a little terraced house in Bristol with my beloved OH Rich, and The Glorious Baby Cyrus- and two pussy cats, one of whom had his nose put out of joint when Cyrus came into the world (on a futon in the living room) and another puss who lets him pull her ears with classic resignation.

Cyrus has been in cloth for 4 months (was too scared & disorganised at first, but damn glad I made myself do it  )
and we have never looked back. We made a conscious decision to practice attachment/natural parenting as much as possible, and it's very easy and intuitive. Using real nappies fits so well with it, and it's all working out to be suspiciously easy ( as long as I can relax about failing to keep the house tidy! Provided I can keep up with the nappies and washing up it's fine...)

Only problem is nappy rash- doesn't seem to bother him, but his poor little red nads! :-( tried calendula, aloe, shea butter.. nothing's shifting it. Any advice welcome!

Best be off- computer has announced that I am now running on reserve battery power. Oops. Must go to bed.

Thanks mods etc for providing such a brilliant resource.

Right, I'm off. :night:

You're welcome - so lovely to hear we are appreciated  - thank you!

Not sure if you have spotted it yet among all the different boards but we do have one dedicated to nappy rash
viewforum.php?f=17

Lots of the girls have had troubles with it and there is lots and lots of fab advice about washing, wipes and tried and tested things to try to get rid of the rash. Hope you can find something that works for you.

Look forward to chatting :D :D

hello!
welcome to the tree! :cnthug:

this site is pretty ace!

We're super lucky to have never had nappy rash.... but to start with in cloth dd did get a red bum... and when i ooked into it a bit more on here i realised that i was washing wrong - i used the 'quick wash' which doesnt get all the powder off the nappies. now i do a normal full cotton cycle, with an extra rinse, and no red bum...!

take care

 Steph welcome

I second lots of nappy free time for lo to help clear the rash. There is a way with chamomile tea (i think thats what it is) for wiping his bottom. I know there is info on that on the nappy rash section.
