Posted: Wed Sep 07, 2011 3:31 amThanks everyone. I am in Palmerston North, two hours north of Wellington. I have an 11 week old boy born on the winter solstice (summer solstice in Europe!). He's called Kōpi (pronounced Kaw-pea). I wasn't affected by the earthquakes at all, thankfully, but people we knew were. It was, and still is, a sad time for the people of Christchurch 
Good to know there are other people on this side of the planet up at the same time, although bub has a cough so I am up at some uncool times of the night too! Kia ora!
