Chicken basics

I'd say we'll probably go with organic. DH is a homebrewer too, and I've read a lot about 'spent' grain (grain that's been used to make beer), it's apparently a fab chicken food. I'm not sure it could be their primary source, but definitely fab as a treat.

DH reminded me today that his cousin is an organic chicken farmer, so he's contacting him this weekend to get some recommendations of where to get birds etc

I would love chickens but hubby wont let me...to be fair our garden is getting rather full of rabbits and millie pup would have a field day with chickens too

DH can't wait. He's wanted them for a LONG time. He'd like eating rabbits too though, not sure I can bring myself to that. It's very common in Germany though to keep a hutch of eaters in the garden apparently
