My tweety babies have hatched!

Postby clothmama » Tue Apr 12, 2016 9:11 am

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Not sure if I mentioned it - a while ago one of the mums from Joshs ados group who has silkie chickens said that she thought her chooks were growing babies but wasnt' really sure as she is new to it all. She said she doesn't want any more and that I could have them if they end up hatching:yahoo: :yahoo: I'm hoping she still wants me to have them but not heard otherwise and the son was all excited telling me so :fingerscrossed: I have some little baby chickens growing. Must get coop built :giggle: :giggle: mind you they'll be so tiny for a while so I could do something temporary but I just need to get on with it!

I'm guessing they look something like this:

I have texted asking her to send an email with some pics for me!

I just saw her and she confirmed I can have 2 of them :yahoo: :yahoo: She has heard to keep them with the mum for 8 weeks (well 6 to 8) until they start to fend for themselves so I've said that is fine for us and that we can come and visit them in a couple of weeks once they are less tiny (only 2 days old) and mum has stopped pecking people that come near! Am very excited :yahoo: :yahoo: The 'mums' are white, Dalmatian, grey and red (the one that is being mum) and the dad is a grey frissie so we are not sure what they will be and I totally understand that they are super hard to sex so no guarantees if I end up with a rooster or not!

I haven't spoken to her but had a message through Josh that one of them hasn't made it  I need to text her and say I understand if she wants to keep them as I know she wanted one and I won't have just one on it's own . Poor little chiccky.
