ooh we've just acquired a rabbit and I do still fancy chickens too.

Ems thats a fab loophole :) Will keep looking into it. We have foxes and squirrels about here so would need something uber safe I think.

yeah, some neighbours didn't approve, but as they were more than 5 houses away I don't care to much. The chooks and the rabbits are on a concrete base with a raised bed... the coop and the runs are drilled down into the bricks on the raised bed.. nothing can dig in .. or out ;) I have an eglu for the chooks... there are claw marks on it, but is double walled and has a smooth and curbed shape, nothing can gnaw its way through.

That sounds like a fab home, our garden just isn't big enough to section a bit off for them, 11m wide is all our garden is and there is about to be a trampoline added and we have a play house.

This makes me feel really clucky though :hohoho: sorry !!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to have chickens but our garden just isn't big enough - there'd be no room for the kids to play if we did!!!

We stayed on a farm recently and we had to shut the chickens in at night, but they were in a hen house so perfectly safe. Tons of foxes round and about.

Our CM has an eglu with a small run but just lets them out round the garden in the day. They do poo everywhere tho :giggle:
