Who will mend my nappies?!

Hi everyone,
wondered if anybody has any suggestions as to who might be able to help with adjusting some of our nappies? Amber (nappy nurse) is closed to repairs at the mo...does anyone else do the same thing? I have about 3 BBSS nappies in large that need the leg elastic shortening or replacing as my LO has no thigh chub whatsoever and they gape at the legs no matter what I do!

Amber is the only one that I know of. She was a member of this forum up until recently so I think we all send her our repairs.

Amber here too, don't know of anyone else who does it?! Not very helpful I'm sure but if Amber will be opening up for repairs soon may be worth waiting xx

I was going to suggest Nappy Nurse (Amber) as well. Not sure who else to suggest - sorry

Have you looked at any tutorials to do it yourself? They are very easy to do. I replaced the elastic in many of my BB's over the years, not a professional job but served it's purpose!

eek....how easy is easy??!! I can sew on a button, but that's about it for my skills with a needle!!

I think it's easy! I snip the fleece at the 2 ends of the leg area to expose the elastic. Snip the elastic off leaving a small stubb to enable you to attach new elastic to it (no fancy sewing skills required) at each end. When you have sewn the elastic to one end, attach a safety pin the the lose end of elastic and feed through under the fleece until you reach the other stubb at the end and sew. Then you just sew up the small hole that was made in the fleece.

you know what....that DOES sound easy! Thanks hun ...the BBSS fit so well everywhere apart from the thigh, so if I can make them fit her it'd be a godsend.
OK, next question: where could I bug the right kind of elastic?

Wilko's, Tesco or any crafty store will sell it, it's less than 1/2cm wide & quite cheap too.
