But a friend said to me today that surely cloth nappies would be too hot in the summer and asked if I'd be using disposables for the warmer months..?

So, are they too hot in the summer?!

No they aren't, I know what I would rather have round my butt, lovely natural fabrics over chemicals any day x

Not at all.

Imagine if you had the choice in a hot summer between pants with natural fibres (cotton / bamboo etc) pants or something plascticy?

I'd go natural all the time.

Nope they are actually cooler as they tend to be more breathable

What am I missing? Why would they be too hot??

My three just wear nappies and a top when it's hot and et voilà an instant outfit, whereas I for one wouldn't want my babies running around in a disposable, not quite so pleasing on the eye ;)

Fab - thanks so much :)
It does make sense that they'd be more breathable and yes, as we wear fabric pants as opposed to paper pants, I'd like the same for Jonah too.

We use cloth all year round. We're in Sydney, Aus. Neither of them have ever been too hot in cloth. And we use wool, too. :)

Tegan - I think she was saying it because of the fabric and padding - I didn't quite know what to say as hadn't done any research so just said I'd plan to still use them with a little bit of naked time (as we do now) as much as poss!
