Newborn poo

Postby ems101 » Sun Mar 25, 2012 5:24 pm

We started DD in cloth at about 7m, post weaning. This time I hope to at least part time cloth bum this one from birth. Im just reminising about new born poo and how squirty it can be, and wondered how you manage to get it off the nappy? Do you use flushable liners? I didnt think much of these when i trialed them. Maybe some sort of scraping device?!!

It comes off easily in the machine when it's runny :-) No need for liners, except for fleece if you want it soft and dry next to baby.

yes, if you're BF you can just put the nappies straight into the machine and do a rinse cycle. :D

I tried fleece liners with Eleanor.... Waste of time, they actually delayed it absorbing into the nappy because it just seemed to sit on the liner and then leaked!

oh, well thats simple enough. BF poo is so much nicer than weaning poo, so i guess it will be fine!

WTS, we use unlined nappies and just pop them straight in the bucket, then the machine.

We never used liners either and never had any problems, even the meconium washed out fine.

As others have said, runny bf poo rinses off and washes out with no problems. I didn't use fleec liners til later on either, cos bf poo kinda slides about on top of it.
