Improving the look of minkee.

Postby Rox » Tue May 15, 2012 5:30 pm

I have some PL nappies with minkee and the minkee isnt just as soft and lovely as it would have been new, its not matted but the fibers arent as free as they would be new. I dont recall my nappies ever going like this, well, they didnt as i have the first minkee nappy i bought for S, used for 2yrs and it still looks new SO...

Is it a detergent/wash routine thing? I am planning to strip wash all PL nappies i get closer to baby time, do you think this might help, what else could i do to improve and fluff up the minkee?

A baby hairbrush works well, the same thing for crunchy bv too.

Maybe they were from a hard water area, it makes a helluva difference to towels etc. Not nearly so soft :( so if you live in a nice soft water area they may come up lovely when washed / slight tumble dry?
:giggle: to you all brushing your nappies
