Nearly done shopping already help with list

Postby littlesez » Fri Jun 22, 2012 7:57 pm

Way too early i know not even had scan yet  but i have 10 size 1 little lambs and ordered enough bamboo for 8 terries which i might dye. Gonna then get another meter or so of preffered fabric so will have at least 12 terries. So all my staple nappies are done already. If for some reason i get some money from somewhere i will get a few little cute fitteds but that will be a want rather than a need.

Am i mad to think i can use wool full time? I was thinking i would just :knit: :knit: :knit: but not sure ?

:lookround:

Just added a list to my blog for everything so although i think i am gonna be OK for nappies what else do i need?
What we could do with is a hippy version of those awful shopping generic lists you find in mainstream baby magazines :giggle:

Wool full time??

Of course!!!!
Oh yeah!!! Go for it!!!

When we have another, they're likely to be teeny again so I'm definitely doing wool soakers from birth!!!

:wine: for being super organised already!!

Why would you be mad? Didn't even give it a second thought, wool from day one here!

Im not sure about wool full time, tiny babies dont move much so more prone to wicking - i am planning to use wool but will be more likely to use a wrap when in the car i think, plus, poo is easier to wash off a regular wrap than a wool one lol.

Perhaps someone who has done it can comment.

Never had a problem with wicking at all. Must of been lucky as fitteds never used to leak poo, all contained :)

Mad because you can't just shove them in the wash so maybe a bit too much early days ? But wool is so cute :)

I don't think it's mad! I'm planning to use a combo of fitteds and terries with wraps and wool, and AIOs, and pockets. I don't really have a preference, so it's nice to use all types of fluff!

Didn't use wool til maybe a few weeks last time, and even then, it was just one wrap, but with a well boosted nappy and well lanolised wool, I'm not anticipating huge problems, as newborns are changed so frequently. I'm not speaking from experience though!

We never had explosive poo that a nappy didn't contain, so am hoping for the same this time!

Scan is on the 10th July :D

Izzy did explosive poos but the only thing that didnt contain them was ittis, my LL and terries contained everything but i can't remember whether that was because of the wraps :-? the wicking won't be a problem i don't think coz i like to change frequently anyway but we shall see.
