I'm sure someone told me that newborns go through roughly 10 nappies a day, so if you could manage to take about 20 then ask Phil to bring more in when he comes in depending on how many you have used so far and take back the ones you have used to wash ready for when you get home. Someone with more experience will be along with a better idea I'm sure as I'm just guessing really :giggle: I'm still undecided what to do about cloth in hospital as we still have loads of newborn disposables left from Darcy so think I will wait and see how long we need to stay in for and keep a couple of cloth nappies in my bag and the rest in the car for DH to grab if its going to be a short stay. Hoping like last time that even if I end up with a section we will be home 48 hours after the birth x

For the first few days you won't actually need to change much at all until your milk comes in (unless you get lots of meconium poos!) I would say 20 would be more than enough. What I would do is take 10 or so with you and have another 10/15 in a seperate bag for DP to bring in for you when needed I think.

I only used about 5-6 in the first day as for the first couple of days they don't tend to wee or poo as much.

I took 14 in for the first two days with ds just in case dh forgot the other bag the second day (he had the other kids to look after, so enough stuff to remember lol!). Knew my mum would be popping in anyway so could always pick stuff up for me and bring it.

ETA The hardest part wasn't deciding how many to take, it was which were the poshest ones to show off...!!

Thats exactly why I haven't bought any this time and just kept the ones we had left from Darcy which will probably last us 3-4 days, although may use them overnight once he starts to out pee day nappies, before I decide on whether to go for night nappies or not this time :-?
