I struggle to find the wipes boxes now but if I see them I'll happily make you one (you'll just need to cover cost of box & fabric etc.)

Thats so sweet of you but sadly we are well out of nappies in this house now :giggle:

Cupcakemummy - that box looks fab! Love it and your stash is amazing. I'm envious. I only have the trial TB pack myself, but there are a few on there that you have that I want like the Bumgenius. Really helps to see what others have.

I really like the idea of using the 2 step system though, simply for containment and also being able to find nice covers for them. Been trawling here and Ebay for various bits and pieces, but also trying to get house sorted for new arrival.

We're having baby in with us for first 6 months and cot is due today, so have shifted bedroom around to make room. Going to do as much as possible in the nursery too for when he moves into it.

I'm wondering why some of the fitted nappies, like the Wee Notions Northern Lights come in such pretty patterns if they are going to be covered with a wrap? This is confusing!

Also noticed that a few messages are in my outbox instead of sent and wondered why.

Still building my newborn stash, but keep adding things to it all the time!

I haven't read all the replies, and I'm late to the discussion, but can I say a word in favour of pockets.

We used pocket nappies with my LO and never had a two parter, so I can't compare, but my main reason for wanting to use pockets was so that we didn't need to buy larger sized clothes - most of her normal high street baby clothes fitted over the pocket nappies.

They are also the most user friendly (as in, they are like disposables) for other people looking after your LO - childminders, grandparents, even husbands (my husband was very anti cloth so anythign complicated put him off)

Also as you point out, what' the reason for having a pretty nappy if you're goign to cover it with a boring wrap?

The mots popular go to nappy when I was using them was Bumgenius - very easy to put on and good containment etc, birth to potty (altho btop often dont' fit well at te two extremes of the age range). My personal favourites were Fuzzi bunz, the inserts are rubbish and practically a microfibre booster, but stuffed right they are great and went 4 hours on my LO. The key with pockets is in getting the stuffing right - my favourite inserts were greenkids bamboo, with a microfibre booster or cloth on top.

I believe tots bots are the main one now that people love, and they come in good colours. You should pick up some fuzzis cheap secondhand tho as they are not "flavour of the month" (and yes, there is a fashion cycle in nappies!!)

I quite liked the stuffing, would sit in front of the telly and do it - quite meditative.

We only used cloth from about 7 months so can't advise on the meconum issue.

Thanks for that - really helpful. I'll have a look at those ones. Trying to get a good selection of fitted and AIO (still not sure the different between AIO, fitted and AI2s. Find the terminology all a bit confusing!
