Cloth nappies on holiday?

We're going on holiday - typical beach/pool hotel - for two weeks.

I am trying to figure out what to do about nappies for my 6mo old baby. We use fitted with wraps at home, day and night.

When I booked a few months ago, I was still using disposables. So I assumed if just go back to disposables for the holiday. But now I've been using cloth for a while, it feels odd to think of him in a hot place in a disposable. I have no idea why I feel like that as I happily used disposables with my older children.

So, is cloth on holiday possible? Has anyone done it successfully? Or am I just mad and should pack disposables and get on with it?

Help!

We always use cloth, never had any problems. Just check there's a machine!

I have been on holiday with a 4 month old and used them without a machine, it was a 4 day break and I mainly used pockets and handwashed them, the outers were dry in minutes in the heat. If there is a machine it is no hassle at all, no different to being at home really, just a case of allowing the extra baggage space! Let us know how you get on :D

I went to France with 6 month old in cloth. We had a machine and then dried on clothes horse. There were a couple of VERY humid days which slowed down the drying but as long as you don't skimp on number nappies you take then no problem. Like Clothmama said make sure you allow extra luggage space!

I think it would be the baggage space that would put me off. I ve not been abroad, just in the uk in a car so it's not made much difference ;)

I know it would be buying new nappies if you dont have them (never a problem for me ;) ) but nappies like flip and charlie banana have disposible inserts so midway between cloth and disposables.

But saying that if we go away i think i'd use eco disposables, have a holiday from washing and enjoy a fluffy bum again once home ;)

Thank you so much for your replies - definitely given me some ideas :)

The hotel doesn't seem to have a self service laundry, though it says it has a 'laundry service'. I don't really fancy giving my nappies away to be washed in case they're stewed at 90 degrees and softened with softener!

Budget won't stretch to new nappies for holidays - if it did, I would own far too many nappies!

I think the pockets plan is a great one. I have loads of internet cheepies that mostly leak a bit so I use fitteds at home. Baby will probably only wear a nappy and a shirt on holiday, so leaks won't matter!

My next step is to assemble enough nappies for two bed wetting preschoolers and a 6 month old and see how big the pile gets! Having calculated it would be 98 disposables  the pile of pockets/inserts plus 4 bedwetters will surely be smaller?!?

I'll updated when I've got the pile together :)
