The beginning of the end!

:yahoo:  :yahoo:  Rémy did a wee in his potty for the first time today (and then a poo on the floor - love tiles :hohoho: ). We have been talking about it (he is excited about nursery but they need to be out of nappies at his nursery so been explaining that to him) but it just kind of came out of the blue and he said he didn't want a nappy back on  . I've just printed out and cut up the pattern for the Fishsticks boxer briefs in his size and I'll try to get a pair cut out tonight so I can :sewing: them tomorrow. If they work / fit OK I'll then try to make a whole set!

Oh wow! Well done Rémy! 2.5 is quite young to be expected to be out of nappies I think. What happens if they aren't potty trained?

I'm not sure actually @ems101 I meant to ask her actually, he'll be nearly 3 by then, he doesn't start until 7th September so really he is only 6 weeks off and I think he is in the younger end (Josh had already turned 3 in the June when he started). I did consider keeping him home another year but I dont' think he could continue at creche and there are 5 other babies all born within a few weeks of Rémy all starting and it is so lovely. I'm guessing there may be some leeway particularly in the beginning. If we are making no progress on potty training by end of school term I might call her to see what the story is. I'm guessing he is almost ready though, been telling us what he is doing for a couple of months now.

It would be nice for him to start with his peers, and I think at three they are quite ready for some socialisation with little friends, some structured activities etc. Also, so good for you to have time to work on your things! Summer is a good time to train, I bet by Sept he'll be there or almost there!

Exactly, and he should know quite a few of them quite well by the end of summer as we all tend to take the kids to the lovely village pool at least a few times a week. I was thinking the same, I'm sure he'll have cracked it by then!

One successful morning wee and one nearly made it (he was there but I didn't get there quick enough to get his trousers down). We even had a quick trip to the village shop (that is why he had tracksuit pants on!), I put a hemp insert and a prefold down on his carseat. No creche tomorrow so he'll have had (hopefully) 2 full days by the time we go there. They are happy to do what I've been doing and they have cute little toilets so hopefully that will go well as well. :fingerscrossed: we are on the right track.

I know, he seems to have gone really quickly from being such a little boy / still a baby to a little boy!
