Tell me about weaning poo *inserts grim face here*

Postby charlibunny » Mon Jan 26, 2009 6:34 pm

Im not weaning yet but have a feeling i will be in the next few weeks/months.
Im going to the HV tomorrow as we think Soph is allergic to Dairy, so i imagne all of her first foods will be orangy veg based ones.
What on earth do you do with runny orange poo?
Im used to either nice toddler poos that roll off fleece, or newborn BF poos that wash off
I dont want all my nice BOV and COV nappies staining......

Or is it OBV and OCV??? Yes that looks better....... :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho:

surely you dont really want to know!!! :hohoho:

how about if i give some advice instead???

make sure your fleece liners are big enough to protect your nappies

start weaning when the sun starts shining :D and you can bleach out any stains

IMO Summer's haven't been that bad at all, she'll only eat fruit, carrots, weetabix and bready type things!

Kaydi's havent been too bad. I waited till 6 months and did BLW.
She did have the odd jar which i don't recomend orange mush....eeeek!
I've only had a stain or 2 but they came out with another wash.

Katie's aren't too bad either. We also do BLW, none of my children have ever been fed purees or jars of baby food. I use paper and fleece liners and managed to keep my nappies stain free. :wine: If it's a dirty nappy just flush the liner down the toilet, if not just put it in the bucket and wash with the nappies and fleece liners.

We've been ok, Ted is a big boy (25lbs) but is only taking fruit/veg at the moment. He is nearly the same weight as my dd who has nearly 12 months on him  We've had a little bit of staining but it has come out after a couple of washes, although we do use a bio, Bold2in1.

We've always been ok here as well, never had any stains, Gracie never liked very sommoth food so always had lumpy fruit and veg, considering the amout of fruit and veg she eats her nappies are surprisingly ok. She hates jar food, steak pie and roast dinner are her favs, oh and sandwiches, she adores them. She was 6 months when we started weaning, and she is also allergic to dairy so is on soya milk (that explains her bad skin when I was bf - I am a chocoholic). x

Ok so I think I am the only one with a boy with really sticky squidgy poo. My solution - the shower reaches from the bath to the toilet so I spray it off and have a second bucket next to the toilet!

Thanks for the advice, you must all have well trained pooing babies :hohoho:
My kids have always had the more squishy type like annette says
I dont feed jarred food, its a bit ugh in my opinion(ive tried it  )!
I would love to try this baby lead weaning... What is it?
It would be great to wean and not have to blend everything up!
As for the sticky poo, my shower doesnt reach my loo, i wonder if a jug on a fleece liner might work? hmmmmmmmm.......
