They don't get stains out for me, i'm not sure it's any better than just washing with water but I wish they did work because my nappies seem to really suffer from detergent build-up and I don't think I use enough for that to work properly either.

If anyone wants some, I've got a box which I'm never going to use again. They don't work in our soft water, but ecoballs do, so I'm sticking to the balls.
I can either send you a few or the lot, if you pay postage!
PM me!

There is a school of nappy-washing thought that goes "If your nappies stink, maybe it's because you're not using enough detergent to get them clean." I read a whole thread about it on diaperswappers.com, lol... There does seem to be an element of truth in it! Have you tried doing at least one wash with the same amount you'd use for normal clothes (and 1/4 cup or so of vinegar in the fs compartment), then a second wash with no detergent to get out any that's lingering?

I've tried so many things in the last 2 weeks to sort out my stinky night nappies that I'm not really sure what worked in the end, but that's what I did most recently, and the stinkies are gone!

I know we're supposed to wash with half the recommended dose to avoid buildup, but it does seem sort of wrong. I use about 50ml, vs. 60 for a normal wash, I just can't bring myself to use that little!
