1 is enough for us during the day with a m/f insert for nap time or just a mf cloth for awake time. Even at night I just use 1 pd insert and 1 easy peasy, I am just waiting for the day that she starts to pee rivers!!!!

Just read through this - I just wanted to say that Sandys are FAB for newborn poo - I don't think I ever had a leak with them. And if you are looking at one size pockets, the Nature Babies are good - there is stacks of adjustment in them and they are one of the most leakproof pockets I have used.

Wow thats interesting Sally. Don't know anything about nature babies OS pockets so off to have a look now. What is the bulk like on newborns? I am very anti big bum! lol.

Glad you said that about the sandys as that is what I bought them for, I had heard they were excellent for BF poo. I have dyed some too so they look nicer! :D

I am still stuck with the upsey daisy! I would like to order today really as we are now back to a disposable with a ME wrap over the top for night! The french soy cotton fabric to have on the nappy is actually more expensive than the hemp, making me wonder if it is better? I just want to order which ever would be more absorbant really. I always thought hemp was the most absorbant nappy material? I was thinking about getting hemp for the actual nappy and the the french soy for the booster so there is something on top of the hemp. But that is based on guess work that the hemp is more absorbant and that the french soy will be softer and quick for absorbing on the top layer. I would rather know for definate before I order really.

I think I am going to have a plain UD. :( The pictures you can add do look nice but they add quite a lot on to the price and it is only for night after all. And it will be under some nice pink woolies.

I didn't use mine on my LO until she was a bit older so can't say for sure what the fit would be like on a newborn. The inserts provided with them are HUGE so I use thinner inserts with mine. They aren't as slim looking as some pockets so maybe not great for you if you like an un-big bum look... But then again the containment is a lot better than other pockets I have used... I guess you can't have it all :giggle:
TBH I would stick with the Sandys initially and move onto pockets when baby is a bit older and poo is less runny... But thats just my opinion.

Well I ordered my UDNN. I emailed them to ask about the fabrics and they got back to me straight away and recommended the french soy and possibly a hemp booster. But what I did was ordered both the nappy and the booster in french soy and figgured if I change my mind and want hemp, I can always use any other hemp insert/booster but from what she said I don't think it will. I only ordered plain which was a shame but it is £5 ish for the picture on the bum, they looked nice though.

Also bought 3 lil stinkies onesize pockets and they are lovely patterns. Bit naughty but I have sold lots of stuff.

And I have bought a preloved BBOS from here and a GK anytimes preloved. Possibly a nature babies too. So got lots of extra pockets anyway. I am going to wait and see what the easy peasy hemp inserts are like when they come and if they are good I might order some more of those. Although I am guessing hemp needs quite a lot of prewashing?

Does anybody know how many washes my UDNN is going to need before use?

I always give nappies one wash before use, to get rid of any manufacturing residues, but I haven't heard that french soy needs any additional washes to build up absorbency like hemp does. Might be wrong though!

Thanks - I hope so! Do you know how long they take to make them? Have never had a custom nappy before?

I have managed to buy 10 preloved easy peasy inserts which makes things easier as I can use them straight away instead of loads of pre washes. Do you think they would be good in my WNNN with a bamboo insert on top? Desperate to get our night time situation sorted!

We are going to start using our wool wrap tomorrow, it has only been lanolised once so thought I would go for daytimes and see how it goes. DO you think it is ok to use in the daytime for say a week, then wash and lanolise again and then try at night?

Have bought some more onesize pockets preloved and now just keeping an eye out for bargains really.

Today the postman brought me 2 nature babies wraps for the newborn which are gorgeous and I am very please with them and another BG v2 from Hana - Thanks for that if you are reading! :D

Thank you for all your help. I can't believe I have gone this long without knowing about this forum. I had a gap where we used disposables but I probably wouldn't have done if I had been able to come on here for support! I didn't know it existed! BUT you all make me buy so many nappies! :giggle:
