I am sure a normal wash in the launderette would be just fine - I have gone back to using just a tablespoon of big box bio washing powder for a whole load of nappies - this is 20+ We started to get issues with detergent build up / rashes when we used more powder, even with the prewash and extra rinses.

As others have said the launderette will be cheaper than disposables!

Could you use the laundrette just to dry for a while? Then it wouldn't cost so much and you could keep on using your cloth. Once you were caught up you could go back to normal.
