Is it doable?

Postby moonfruit » Wed Sep 16, 2009 3:51 pm

I have 2 stuffie fleece wraps. They work fab for Lottie but they are aplix, so frequently get undone. Could I remove the aplix and add snaps? If so could I do it with pliers (when I buy some) or would it need a press. The fleece is pretty thick.

TIA Lisa

Yes you could remove the applix and add snaps. As they are fleece and not pul I shouldn't think it will affect the waterproofing. But you definately wouldn't manage to go through all that fleece with pliers, you would need a snap press to do it - unless you unpick them a little and put the snaps through only one layer and sew them up again.

I've removed lots of aplix :-?, that bit's easy enough, if a bit fiddly. DH has replaced a few broken poppers for me without a snap press but I think if I was adding a bunch of them I'd want it done by a pro.
