I don't think I've really had any negative comments either, maybe that's because everyone who knows me knows they'd get a mouthfull :giggle: My mum and dad were laughing at Barney in his night nappy the other day, but then he did look like a weeble, horizontal stripes are not a good look over a big night time cloth bum!

The best is in the summer when Ben insists on having an ice cream :giggle:

Do you have to wash them........in your machine? Ewwwwwww
What do you do when he poo's.
You actually have to carry his dirty nappies around with you?

Though I have also had some lovely comments about his nappies and most of my friends don't bat an eyelid. In fact they like them! People at toddler group were commenting on my monkeyfoot wetbag yesterday and asking where they could get them from :).

   I can actually agree with that one though. Because Dawn's bigger than average, the clothes that fit her are made for kids who've PT'd so I can only JUST manage to squish a sposie bum in there, never mind a cloth one :( I'm starting to stock up on fleece to make loads of flongies :)

I struggle to get trousers to fit Katie although strangely I never had a problem with Ryan. :-?

I haven't had any bad experiences in real life, but on forums you get complete tosh being spoken regularly. I read a while back someone saying that their friend was using cloth but had stopped because all of her clothes were starting to smell of poo due to washing the nappies in the same machine  .

DH's friend told us we'd last less than a year using cloth and then would get bored and go back to 'normal'. He's kept his mouth shut about nappies in the last while though as DH has become quite an advocate and has all the expectant mammies and daddies in his office considering cloth

I did once have the nurse at the children's hospital tell me that I didn't need to wrap him in a towel (she looked so sincerely sorry for the poor mite :giggle: ), they'd be quite happy to get me a (disposable) nappy if I'd forgotten to bring one :giggle: . Cue a mini show & tell from me with my lovely nappies, they were quite impressed in the end

"What do you do with the poo?" (Oh gosh I hadn't thought about that....)

"I don't think my washing machine would cope" (erm, maybe time to get a new one then??)

"Ooh you're doing your bit for the environment! I recycle though" (it's not a case of having to pick and choose!)

"I'm more of a traditional mum, I use pampers"

"Oh that's great! I thought you looked like a bit of a hippy when you walked in" (said by a mum at BFing group, Molly was in a mei-tai...why yes thank you, I've been perfecting the look since I learned how to skin up  :giggle: )

:hohoho: :hohoho: :hohoho:

What is it with people thinkign that sposies are 'traditional' or 'real' nappies?! Don't they realise that sposies havent been around forever. I mean, I'm only 23 and my mum used cloth on me!
