Council Incentives to use cloth

I've just been seeing what is available locally.

Terms:

* Limited to one payment per household only
* Your name and address will be held on a database
* Payments are limited to the first 250 households per year
* Applies to purchases from 1st April 2005 to 31st March 2008

Doesn't look like there will be much chance of me getting it since we are near the end of the year and it is only awarded to the first 250 applicants. Its too early for me to buy nappies just now.

I wonder if the scheme will continue after March.

I had exactly the same. £25 for the first 250 applicants. I applied in late summer and I got the money pretty quickly. However £25 is nothing compared to the amount I've spent.

That's not the best scheme really is it?

We get a free starter pack here with 5 MEOS, 5 size one Sandy's, a rikki and an airflow wrap and 3 rolls of liners. Plus £30 cash back for 18 months use of cloth. It's OK as schemes go but I don't think they are the sort of nappies that would convert a sceptic. They say they've given out a lot of packs but I'd like to know how many are actually in use and not being sold on ebay.

Katie, you have quite an impressive incentive. The council I live in, and the one I work in both laughed at me when I asked them if there was an incentive scheme like some of the other councils in the UK.
