I always wash mainly for the reasons already pointed out. This way I know that the powder and cleaning process won't cause Max to have a reaction.

i always wash them, but only because pippa's sensitive to so many soap powders that it's just not worth not washing them, only thing is they always arrive just after i've put the wash on so often wash just one nappy all on it own

I do normally give them a wash tbh - just in case they've been sat around for a while I like them all fresh for my LO. I prewash new nappies too although did try LO's itti's on as soon as they came through the door due to sheer excitement! :giggle:

Am I the only one who can say I have NEVER washed a preloved nappy before using it!

I can understand if it smells (needs stripping) or if your LO has sensitive skin but it has never occurred to me to do it as a matter of course.

Do you know what Winnie I remember now - I wash them because I once bought some preloved fluffles and put one straight on LO, when I took it off it absolutely reeked, so I stripped them and they were fine but it kinda put me off putting them on Jack straightaway. I admit though that even with a prewash these nappies would have smelt after he'd pee'd in them, they were gross but didn't smell when they were dry

I always wash them first, just a habit I guess, I do that with everything we wear even if it's new.

LO has gone to bed in his eco-sposie with lots of cream on so hope his nappy rash is better in the morning. The nappy has also now been strip washed (on it's own  ) & smells fine though it is still wet. Even after hand rinsing it twice before then leaving it in an empty nappy bucket, it still stank vile when I put it in the machine so hope the strip is what it needed.

Will ALWAYS wash pre-loved now
