HELP PINK EMERGENCY!

Postby clarge » Fri Feb 12, 2010 8:50 am

Help me! I put a brand new pink dyed obv san pro in with my nappies to pre-wash and guess what....? EVERYTHING IS PINK!

I can cope with the inserts and wipes but my brand new FnS in white iced giraffes is now pink, had only been worn once, as is my WNNN and my white embroidered HL. IS there anything I can do or are they all ruined?

Please help me!

C x :-(

Wash them again on cool (without the san pro) and it should wash out as there's nothing to 'fix' the loose dye...

Right, doen a vinegar wash, no help, doing a full load detergent and will do a couple empty one after. Going to buy a colour catcher now! :-(

Hate to say it, but vinegar is used as a fixing agent, so the vinegar wash might have fixed the dye. :(

you can get a colour run remover made by dylon (usually with the colour catchers) which is great for such emergencies

Yeah I wouldn't use vinegar. Procion based dyes need alkali conditions (hence soda ash to fix) and vinegar is an acid so I wouldn't worry too much there.

Hope you get sorted!! I recently dyed the boys' white judo suits pink in a similar situation :giggle: . They're white again now though.
