I am at my Mum's now and have a nappy wash on as I type :giggle:
I always rinse the nappies before they are washed so no solids remain anyway.
Liners are a good idea. Hope your aunt lets you use her machine though if
you fully explain I can't see why she wouldn't.

Thanks for all the advice ladies. Just back from a last minute few days away at a hotel. It was my first time away from home since I started cloth. Was panicking about running out of nappies but I have more than I thought :wine:

When I stay at my Mum's I take everything with me (washable wipes, nappy bucket etc) and wash there when I need to. Mum thinks it's great that I'm using cloth - she did when we were little as we got bad rash with sposies, so she's supportive.

If you are concerned about poo in the machine (which I would have thought is the only reason anyone would be worried?) I would keep any pooey nappies seperate (wet bag or bucket) and rinse them by hand first before putting the load on, although with paper or fleece liners not much goes in the machine anyway, and if a baby is sick, or spills food etc then that will go in the machine anyway, I don't see much difference really!

I have only stayed overnight for the odd night, so not had to do a wash, I just take my huge WN Wetbag and bring them home with us, I imagine that would be a lot harder with 2 in cloth though.

I can understand some non-cloth users getting a little precious about us putting poo & wee in their machines though, in the same way we all do about someone putting a sposie in our bins lol! :giggle: I sluice all the poo ones with the showerhead over the loo anyway as I don't want poo in the machine if possible!
