The best thing I found was a stitch ripper for unpicking sewing stitches

I used a "nit" comb. I bought a set (these were plastic throw away combs not the metal style which would prob work even better) which had 2 free when Elspeth started school and haven't used any except for defluffing the nappies thank goodness. These fine combs work really well  I use them to pick out fluff then finish with a brushing action Rx

I find a metal nit comb works wonders, or brushing the rough bits of the velcro over each other iyswim?
