I've been wondering this too - but DD has been in cloth full time since she was 3 weeks old so I can't really compare. She slept through from 11 weeks old, although recently (from about 5.5mths onwards) she has woken once or twice most nights, sometimes for a feed, sometimes a cuddle, sometimes just to be rolled on her side, sometimes for a poo!

The only thing that I wonder about with cloth is whether it's harder for her to move around and get comfy, as it does sometimes seem that she cries, and all I have to do is roll her onto her side and she stops and is asleep again straight away.

We have various different night nappies and I've not noticed a particular difference between them so I'm not convinced there is a link, not for us anyway.

charlie never slept well in any night nappy we tried (we tried LOADS) and she always got a rash. so we use sposies at night. and i dont feel guilty about it, coz i know its the best thing for us.

Well last night was same again :( she went to bed in a Little Lamb, about 11pm the crying started, I was getting up to her every 5 minutes, Then in the end she did a poo (which she never normally does at night, weird!) so I changed her and put a sposie on  and she slept all night. Arrrgh. I don't want to have to keep buying disposables, I wanted her to be in cloth full time, but then I need sleep too, I have to be up for work 4 mornings a week! Just don't know what to do..

How about something more breathable like fleece or wool over-night? Makes no difference to Isaac what he wears but wearing PUL over-night made him sore. A NN & Fleece leaves his skin clear :wine:

I've just had to start putting A in a sposie at night because of this :(

He was waking up every morning with a rash around the tops of his thighs and a really sore winky. Stared it at the beginning of the week and he has slept much better and woken with a peachy bum and normal willy every morning.

I hate hate hate using sposies, but I really don't want my little man to suffer so I guess I'll have to carry on :(

tbh that sounds like it was needing a poo that was waking her up. she might have slept all night in cloth after that too :-?
Is it possible that you are doing up the cloth nappies more tightly than the sposies so she can't move around as much and having a poo is more difficult?

rachymoo wrote:I use the Little Lamb liners which are fairly big - they ok? Oh and she is a front sleeper too.

Hayley I have a Minki so I might give that a go. Just wasn't sure if a pocket would hold out long enough for night time!

I thought the little lamb liners werent as good a fleece/minkee ones as the polyester content or something is different (correct me if im wrong)

DD wears cloth everynight and used to sleep through (in cloth) from about 2 -6 months old and now wakes frequently in the night, some rare nights she does sleep through x

I find the little lamb liners better than fleece.

Have you tried a dedicated night nappy? Maybe she is just slightly too heavy a wetter for a little lamb.

TBH I have the exact same problem & there is some nights I've had to put on a disposable but I am in the process of replacing all of our night nappies with customs so hopefully that will help
