I use Bold-2-in-1 powder, just a small amount & occasionally add some napisan that seems to keep the smells away.
But as PP have said occasionally his NN stink to high heaven in the mornings, only usually for a day or so which i assume is teething related.

We had the same problem here this morning and I stripped the nappy she was wearing last week. I will have to be more thorough and keep an eye on the rinse cycle. I have been using washing balls and soda crystals so there shouldn't be residue. :-?

switching to a powder may help as well, the liquids and gels aren't the best and are very bad for you machine

Defiantly switch to bio powder. I was using Ariel liquid for a while and ended up with the same problem In the end I soaked them in white vinegar/Vanish oxy and water over night in the bath and then washed them with a full dose of Ariel powder and just rinsed and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed (you get the picture :hohoho: ) A bit of a drastic measure but worked for me  oh and plenty of sun also helps the problem.

I'm doing a strip wash now, just the night nappies. I always use soda crystals which can be found in the washing aisle at the supermarket - mine are from tesco but can't remember the name but they're in a green packet

Liquid is actually worse for clogging up your machine. Can't remember why but have read it several times on here

Apparently it doesn't dissolve properly, so leaves a film on your pipes. Seems a bit mad, when it's already liquid. :-?
