Prefolds are great for a newborn - cheap, quick to dry, good on containment - BUT ONLY IF WRAPPED ROUND AND SECURED WITH A NAPPI NIPPA.
Bet she's not selling Nippas with them

I live near a capital city and don't know of anywhere I could buy decent nappies over the counter, unless you include Mothercare smart nappies (which I don't!). The biggest Mothercare in Cardiff has one 80cm shelf devoted to cloth, and a few hangers for the smart nappy system, all of which are opened/mixed up/incomplete and generally poorly maintained.
Oh, tell a lie, I could buy a Pop In in the Waitrose near my mum, but they don't suit DS' shape!

Beth....there is a shop in Roath (I think....don't quote me) that sells *real* cloth but it's name totally evades me at the moment lol!

We have nothing here either. I think the mothercare and toys r us in southampton might but thats about 50 miles away from me.

The big mothercare at east kilbride used to do BG day packs, smart nappies and bambino mio's. Toys r us normally do tots bots but thats it.
