Pre washing nappies

Postby Steph » Wed Apr 02, 2008 8:17 am

As it's such a lovely day today I thought I'd pre wash my nappies. So I know I don't have to use powder but do I pre wash the fleece liners too? And how many times do you think they should be washed. Thanks

For a new baby I would probably wash everything once just to make sure they are clean. I wouldn't bother washing them any more than that, just remember that they may not be up to full absorbency straight away, but you will be changing so frequently I don't think it is really an issue and you will soon have washed them lots and lots!

Same again, i only washed dd's new newborn stuff once before she was born, I found that when she was first born she did'nt wet the whole nappy when she wee'd so they did'nt need to be too absorbant anyway.

I agree too, just once would be fine.

As KAtie is much older, I don't bother with pre-washing anymore and just use and change a bit sooner.

Great thanks, I will just wash them once. Can't wait to see them hanging on the line. :D
